IGNOU Introduces Engineering Diploma and Degrees courses
Types of diploma and degree courses are introduces by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) that gives chance to students to enroll themselves with interested engineering courses to learn in the evening hours and weekends. Apart from engineering degrees and courses IGNOU has also started 6 year course for 10th pass students and 4 year course for science graduates that gives them a new way to start their education with their job work or professions. As per the IGNOU rules and regulations student with engineering diploma, BCA, BCS or equivalent can enter in the second year of 3 year of engineering course.
IGNOU has also introduced big news for engineering students that during the course period students can join practical classes in an engineering regular college attached with the program. A big advantage of these courses is that in each year a student will get certificates as proof of completion of course. This further helps students in getting some jobs and pursue their studies. Another advantage of these courses is that there is no strict duration to complete the course. As per the student's capability and family condition, one can join and complete the course step by step. But for appearing for the exams, student must have 75 percent attendance. The whole program is hold by JS College of Engineering and Technology, which has tied up with IGNOU in the presence of IIT professors who framed the curriculum as per the AICTE and UGC norms.
In this program there is no age limit, lab facilities are there and classes are conducted by the lecturers of the selected college. There are special facilities for SC/ST students of fee reimbursement and scholarships.
