World Book Fair 2010, New Delhi


World book fair 2010 is going to be started on 30th of January, 2010 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. This 19th World book fair will begin on 30th Jan at 11 am and will end on 7th of February at 8pm. World book Fair is a biennial event and is held with the purpose of promotion of books and to inculcate book culture in India. The New Delhi World Book Fair is the biggest book fair in the Afro-Asian Region and attracts exhibitors both from India and abroad as well.



The venue for the World Book Fair 2010 will be Pragati Maidan, Exhibition Centre, 1 Mathura Road, New Delhi. It is organized by National book Trust of India. India has maintained the legacy of being the third country regarding the publication of English books after the USA and the UK. Nearly 1,00,000 new titles are published every year out of which approximately one-third are in the English language. Besides this, India is the only country that publishes books in almost 37 languages.

World Book Fair event is just a platform to showcase India’s bright culture and the incredible literature it owns. Approximately, 15000 exhibitors and more than 1200 attendees will participate in this book fair. The theme of World Book Fair 2010 is “Reading for Common Wealth” to be presented in the form of an International Rights Exhibition of the Books on Sports in India on the occasion of the hosting of the Commonwealth Games by New Delhi in October 2010.
