Amravati University

Amravati University or University of Amravati was established on 1 May, 1983 by the partition of University of Nagpur on the auspicious Maharashtra Day & Worker’s Day. The University, in its small span of two decades, has contributed in many ways for the economic, social and cultural

upliftment of the society by offering quality education in the region.

On the 1st May, 1983 i.e. Maharashtra Day and Worker’s Day, Amravati University was initiated. This University manages the entire western Vidarbha area i.e., five districts of Maharastra namely; Amravati, Akola, Buldhana, Yavatmal, and Washim. The Amravati University, which was founded nearly two decades ago, has given diverse paths for economic, social and cultural improvement of the country by providing quality education.


The University offers 8 undergraduate degree programmes in the faculty of Agriculture.

These programmes are of 4 years duration, have been spread over at seven different campuses of the university.
