Welcome to Cochin University of Science and Technology

At first known as University of Cochin, CUSAT is a public university maintained by government and a self-governing university in Kochi (Cochin), Kerala, India. The university was established in 1971.It consists of three campuses. Two of the campuses are located in Kochi and Kuttanad, Alappuzha, respectively. The university rewards engineering degree and related subjects at the levels such as undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral. Approximately 2,000 students take part yearly in various courses in this university.

In 1986, the university was modernized into Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). The procedure of remake resulted in changing the aims as the elevation of undergraduate and postgraduate educations and innovative research in commerce, applied science, management, technology, industry, and social sciences. Admittances are centered on an All India Entrance Examination recognized as the Common Admission Test (CAT) piloted by the University which contains papers for admittance to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. For some post graduate level courses, Departmental Admission Tests (DAT) is also mandatory.

Cochin University of Science and Technology Campus and Location

The Main (Thrikkakara) Campus

About 1.5 kms away, the main campus is located. It is situated on the National Highway 47 in the South Kalamassery. The campus area of 180 acres comprises of the Administrative office, the Central-Library, Computer-Centre, departments, laboratories, work-shops, cafeterias, visitor house, hostels and play area.

The City (Lakeside) Campus

The Lakeside Campus, approximately 12 km from the Main Campus is established in Cochin City. The campus comprises of the School of Ocean Science and Technology, School of Industrial Fisheries, Department of Atmospheric Sciences, Department of Chemical Oceanography, Department of Marine Biology, Microbiology and Biochemistry, Department of Marine Geology and Geophysics and Department of Physical Oceanography.

The Pulinkunnu Campus

The Pulinkunnu Campus in Kuttanad, Alappuzha Region is 65 km to the Main Campus. The campus has the Cochin University College of Engineering, Kuttanad (CUCEK) and the Cochin University College of Computer Applications (CUCCA). The campus is enclosed by water background, shrines and cathedrals.
