Jawaharlal Nehru University Admission

The Jawaharlal Nehru University is barely thirty years old inspired by ideals and values that make it stand out as an exceptionally different place of learning. It is a learning place which cherishes ideas as field of adventure, experimentation and respect for diversity of opinions. When formed, the university sought to revolutionize the traditional disciples were formulated with fresh perspectives in the Indian university system.
 
The Nehruvian ideals and objectives form the bed rock of the university's values which include national integration, social justice, secularism, the democratic way of life, international understanding and scientific approach to the problems of society. The Jawaharlal Nehru University, the 1000 -acre campus is located on the Aravali hill range which was once rugged terrain but now a lush green expanse. Some parts of it host has forests, sustaining a varied species of birds and some forms of wild life.

The Jawaharlal University Admissions are mostly base on entrance exams, for which students from all parts of the country appear, and they are quite tough to get through too. For the Jawaharlal Nehru University admission 2012, the date for Issue of application forms is from February 7, 201. The last date for issue of application forms are: (i) By Post: March 10, 2011 and (ii) At Cash Counter: March 21, 2011.

The last date of receipt of completed Jawaharlal Nehru University admission form is March 21, 2011. The Jawaharlal Nehru University admission procedure is systematic and well organized and the entrance exams for admissions are conducted category-wise. For the Category-A admission, which is through entrance examination, the University will hold Entrance Examination on May 17, 18, 19 and 20, 2011 for admission to various full-time programmes of study at the following 51 cities in India and some neighbouring countries.

The Jawaharlal Nehru University admission cut off list announces the students selected for entrance exams and final admission is awarded on the basis of the student's performance in the entrance exams. Category-D includes the Part-time programmes and the University holds Entrance Examination in the Delhi Centre only. The courses in this programme include a Certificate of Proficiency and Advanced Diploma in Mass Media in Urdu one-year, Part-Time Programmes of Study in the School of Language, Literature & Culture Studies.

As these courses are Part-Time programmes, they are intended for candidates residing in Delhi NCR only. The admissions to Diploma of Proficiency and Advanced Diploma of Proficiency is made on the basis of on basis of the past academic record of the candidate which is assessed in accordance with the criteria laid down by the University for selection.
 
 
The Category-C constitutes admission of JRF holders to M.Phil. /Ph.D. and Pre-Ph.D. /Ph.D. programme in Science Schools. The University has only a limited number of seats and the students are directly admitted to Ph.D. programmes. This is either on the basis of viva-voce or written examination and viva-voce both as may be decided by the University both in Monsoon and Winter Semesters in all Schools/Centres. Additionally, direct admission to Ph.D. is also offered in Centre for Comparative Politics and Political Theory, Adult Education, Women's Studies and Study of Discrimination and Exclusion.

Candidates have to check the availability of seats in each Centre/School before they apply for admission in Winter Semester. The admission announcements of the concerned notifications are made separately by the university. Category-B includes direct Jawaharlal Nehru University Admission, PhD. The foreign nationals seeking Jawaharlal Nehru university admission to graduate and post graduate course are required to appear in the Entrance Examination subject to their fulfilling minimum eligibility requirements as prescribed for Indian students as indicated under Category 'A' .
