The Paul Foundation was set up in 2001 by the Apeejay Surrendra Group as a window of opportunity for young scholars excited to pursue intellectual distinction through academic pursuit of higher studies in India and abroad.

The Paul Foundation grants scholarships to those Indians who have shown the ability in their specific areas of interest, giving them an opportunity to develop their potential and be recognized as leaders.

The main objective the Paul Foundation Scholarships is to build up outstanding scholars who have demonstrated ability and intellectual excellence to create thoughtful and thought-provoking work and who can in turn contribute to make a difference to society.

The notification inviting applications for the Paul Foundation Scholarships are published in leading newspapers every year in the month of November. The Paul Foundation Scholarship schemes are open to candidates pursuing Post graduate / Doctoral studies and Diploma and Short Term courses which fits in with the ideology of the organization as enunciated in its vision statement.

Provided the expenditure of studying overseas or even at the premier institutions in India, which could be too expensive for some of the best and the brightest students, TPF offers scholarships up to a maximum of Rs 15 lakhs per year per student. The Paul Foundation Scholarships India assist scholars in the areas of Humanities, Social Sciences, Basic Sciences, Applied Sciences, Law, Management, Medicine, Engineering, Fine Arts and the Performing Arts, including New Media Art.

Eligibility criteria for The Paul Foundation Scholarships

The candidates must have a first class degree in all their previous qualifying examinations, at the undergraduate or post graduate levels for applying to the Paul Foundation Scholarships. They must have submitted their applications to the universities of their choice at the time of applying to the Paul Foundation. These candidates are asked to hand over proofs of their confirmed admission before they are interviewed by the selection committee. The candidates must be below the age of 30 years and should be Indian nationals. As a merit-cum-means grant, the Foundation asks the applicant to submit duly authorized evidence of family income at the time of application.

Selection Procedure for The Paul Foundation Scholarships

The candidate applying for the Paul Foundation Scholarships have to submit the duly filled-in Application forms of the Foundation with comprehensive official evidence of the candidate's academic achievements and Letter of application, along with receipt/ acknowledgement for admission to a course of study in top ranked universities, institutes or centers, in India or abroad. Along with the academic records, a 2000 word essay, which is a statement of purpose, based on the applicant's understanding of his/her subject and a 300 word personal profile is required to be submitted by the applicant based on which his/her academic potential will be assessed. The final interviews will take place in June-July every year. All applicants must be available for interviews in India. Candidates who do not receive any communication must assume their application to be unsuccessful.
