ICSI is the concern authority that provides the certification of Company secretary. The Institute of Company Secretaries of India regulated under the Company Secretaries Act, 1980 as stated by Act of Parliament. Candidates after qualifying ICSI membership; are rewarded by Company Secretary Certification. The complete CS course is being designed, structured and maintained by same ICSI.

Company Secretary Course is defined under the three sub points:

  • Foundation Course : The duration of this course is for eight months where after passing foundation course one needs to pass through practical training.
  • Intermediate Course : The duration of this course is for nine months that starts after the completion of foundation course. Students after completing their graduation can also take direct admission under this course.
  • Final Course : After completing foundation and intermediate course; candidates finally go for final course after passing which they are rewarded by CS certification.

Any student after passing 12th standard can pursue company secretary course where the fees structure comprises of 3600 for CS Foundation Programme, Rs. 7000 for Commerce Graduates and 7750 for Non Commerce Students. The prospectus for foundation programme cost Rs. 200/- by cash and Rs. 250/- by courier or post where as prospectus for executive programme cost for Rs. 300/- by cash whereas Rs.350/- by post or courier. All the fees payment can be paid through DD under the favour of 'The Institute of Company Secretaries of India' payable at New Delhi

Company secretary brings varied job roles and responsibilities including: Company Secretary can go for corporate planner and strategy specialist for any of the branded firm. Compliance officer is another job profile that can be selected by company secretary. Company Secretary also represent as chief advisor to the share holders, board of director and other government authorities.
