Nursing Courses

In previous times nursing was seen as a part of religious dedication mostly by women. However, at present day like any other profession, nursing can also be a carrier for men. The first school with nursing courses was founded by Florence Nightingale in 1860 at St Thomas' Hospital,

London. People who have undergone online nursing programs or are having regular degree courses in nursing are in high demand.

One should remember that higher the degree in nursing, higher is the specialization eventually leading to a higher salary as well. Nursing comprises of several responsibilities, from handling the bedside cases to specialized duties like dealing with psychiatric or pediatric patients. Nursing also involves other duties like maintaining the health records of patients, dispensing medication, setting up the equipments of an operation theater and many other routine jobs.

There are nursing schools and colleges in almost all states of India which offer courses in nursing. Nurses training include theory and practical sessions. The introductory courses familiarize students with the basics of nursing whereas the masters' degrees help them in specializing in the field of their choice.
